Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, has reportedly charged rupees 75 crore for each part of the trilogy
Ramayana Cast Fees: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash Charge Massive Salaries:Ramayana, the much-anticipated mythological film starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana, is scheduled to release next year on Diwali. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is reportedly being made in three parts, with the second installment expected in 2027.
After three years of casting, shooting, and talkings, the makers finally unveiled the first glimpse of the film on July 3. A three-minute graphical video was released by the film’s producer Namit Malhotra, featuring brief visuals of Ranbir Kapoor dressed in Lord Ram’s avatar. The pre-teaser has taken the internet by storm, with many praising the high-quality graphics, the international music collaboration, and the looks of the actors.
Sharing his vision behind the project, producer Namit Malhotra wrote while releasing the pre-teaser, “Ten years of aspiration. Relentless conviction to bring the greatest epic of all time to the world. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world’s best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of reverence and respect. Welcome to the beginning. Let’s celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama vs. Ravana. Our Truth. Our History.”
The film’s music is being composed by legendary artists Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, a collaboration fans have described as “unbelievable.” One excited fan wrote, “Music by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman? Am I dreaming this? These two? Together?”
With the pre-teaser release, the film’s production budget has also become a major talking point. Reports suggest that the total budget of the film is around rupees 835 crore. A significant portion of this amount has reportedly gone into the cast's remuneration.
Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, has reportedly charged rupees 75 crore for each part of the trilogy, amounting to approximately rupees 225 crore. South Indian superstar Yash, who will be seen as Lankapati Ravana, has reportedly been paid rupees 50 crore for each part, totalling rupees 150 crore for the three films. Sai Pallavi, who will play Goddess Sita, has reportedly charged rupees 2 crore per part, amounting to rupees 6 crore across the trilogy.
According to media reports, Rakul Preet Singh has been cast as Shurpanakha, Ravana’s sister, and has reportedly charged between rupees 1 to 2 crore for the role. Actor Ravi Dubey will portray Laxman and is said to have received between rupees 2 to 4 crore for his role. Kunal Kapoor will be seen playing the role of Lord Indra in the film and has also reportedly been paid a significant amount, though the exact figure has not been disclosed.
A few days ago, Sunny Deol confirmed that he would be portraying Hanuman, the devoted follower of Lord Ram. Reports say that he has been paid around rupees 20 crore for his role.

Karan Johar, also had shared the film’s pre-teaser on his Instagram story, writing, “This is what a mega blockbuster looks and sounds like! UNREAL!”
