The first official glimpse of the much-anticipated epic film Ramayana: Our Truth, Our History has finally been released, and it has taken the internet by storm. On July 3, the makers unveiled a three-minute-long pre-teaser after three years of intense anticipation since casting began.

Calling it “UNREAL,” filmmaker Karan Johar praised the glimpse, saying, “This is what a mega blockbuster looks and sounds like!” His reaction echoes the excitement of countless fans across social media, many of whom are calling the project one of the most ambitious and visually stunning Indian films ever made.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The music has been composed by global legends Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, a collaboration that fans are calling “unbelievable.” One excited fan wrote, “Music by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman? Am I dreaming this? These two? Together?”

Sharing his vision for the film, producer Namit Malhotra wrote, “Ten years of aspiration. Relentless conviction to bring the greatest epic of all time to the world. An outcome through a collaboration of some of the world’s best to ensure that Ramayana is presented with the greatest amount of reverence and respect. Welcome to the beginning. Let’s celebrate the IMMORTAL story of Rama vs. Ravana. Our Truth. Our History.”

Ramayana is being filmed for IMAX and presented by Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with Monster Mind Creations and the Academy Award-winning VFX studio DNEG. The teaser showcases a visually grand world crafted with top-tier visual effects, promising a cinematic experience.

The film will be released in two parts, with the first part set to hit theatres on Diwali 2026, and the second part scheduled for Diwali 2027.

Fans are thrilled by the teaser. One user wrote, “Maddd… Seated for this,” while another added, “The 3D experience on the big screen is all we need.” Yet another commented, “Entire social media is under the control of #Ramayana,” reflecting the massive wave of online excitement the teaser has generated.
