Rains return to Delhi

New Delhi: Rains made a comeback in Delhi today, ending a nearly week-long dry spell and bringing the temperature down to a comfortable 26 degrees Celsius. The weather office has forecast thunderstorm with showers later in the day. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius.   

The city received 23.4 mm rainfall over the last 24 hours, an official of the Safdarjung weather observatory said.   According to private weather agency Skymet, light intensity rains will continue at a few places over Delhi and the National Capital Region for the next 24 to 48 hours.

Humidity level, which was 100 per cent at 8.30 am today, will also remain on the higher side, it said. Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 29 degrees Celsius. PTI
