The incident occurred during a match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab when Harbhajan, then playing for Mumbai, slapped Sreesanth, who was representing Punjab, after the game. The altercation left Sreesanth in tears and led to a significant controversy. As a result, Harbhajan was banned for the remainder of the IPL season.
