India clinched the title 3-0 in straight sets in the final

Kathmandu: India defeated Kazakhstan in the final of the National Sports Council-Central Asian Volleyball Association (NSC-CAVA) Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup held in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Sunday. India clinched the title 3-0 in straight sets in the final and 20th match of the Challenge Cup held at the Covered Hall in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu on Sunday.

India won the first set 25-15, the second set 25-22 and the third set 25-18 against Kazakhstan. Apart from this, India ended the tournament unbeaten.In the competition, Kazakhstan was runner-up, Nepal third, Uzbekistan fourth, Sri Lanka fifth, Kyrgyzstan sixth, Maldives seventh and Bangladesh eighth.

Earlier in the match, India attacked the net effectively against Uzbekistan to secure a comfortable win and a place in the final. In the semi-final, unbeaten Kazakhstan defeated Nepal 30-28, 16-25, 15-25, 25-18, 15-7 in a five-set match.

Maldives and Bangladesh battled it out in a 7th-8th place playoff, with Kyrgyzstan challenging Sri Lanka for 5th place. In the team only one player from Haryana Nirmal Tanwar was included in the team, he took the command of the team. The highest number of 9 players from Kerala were included in the Indian team.
