Isha Singh & Shiva Narwal Received Victory with a Score of 16-10

BAKU: In a Remarkable display of precision and skill, Indian sharpshooters Isha Singh and Shiva Narwal clinched the gold medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the ISSF World Championship held here on Friday.

The dynamic Indian duo showcased their exceptional marksmanship throughout the championship, culminating in their triumphant victory over Turkey's Yusuf Dikec and  Sevval Tarhan in the final. The final match witnessed an intense contest, with Isha Singh and Shiva Narwal emerging victorious with a score of 16-10.

With this resounding victory, the Indian contingent celebrated their second medal of the tournament, elevating India to the second position on the leaderboard. The tally now stands at one gold and one bronze medal, while China maintains its dominance with an impressive haul of five gold and two bronze medals, firmly occupying the top spot.

During the qualification round, the Indian marksmen exhibited exceptional form. Isha Singh achieved a commendable score of 290, while Shiva Narwal secured 293 points. Their cumulative total of 583 points propelled them to the top position in the qualification round. Notably, the Turkish pair trailed closely behind, securing the second spot with a combined score of 581 points.

As the competition intensified, both China and Iran managed to score an identical total of 580 points. However, China clinched the third spot due to the tiebreaker mechanism known as the 'Inner 10,' thus securing a place in the final round.
