News of Shahid Afridi's Death is FAKE!

Afridi, who retired from international cricket in 2017, remains one of Pakistan’s most iconic cricketers.

Shahid Afridi Death Latest News Today: A viral video falsely claiming the death of former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has caused widespread confusion and alarm across social media platforms. The video, which alleges that Afridi was buried in Karachi and even features fabricated condolence messages from public figures, has been confirmed to be fake and generated using artificial intelligence.

Afridi, who recently made headlines for his controversial remarks against India during Operation Sindoor, is alive and reportedly in good health. The misleading video appears to be part of a deliberate disinformation campaign.

The incident has sparked fresh concerns about the misuse of AI to spread false narratives. “This is a dangerous example of how AI can be weaponized to spread misinformation,” said a cybersecurity expert. “Such videos, if unchecked, can cause real-world panic and reputational damage.”

In recent months, Indian authorities have cracked down on the social media presence of several Pakistani public figures, including Afridi and former pacer Shoaib Akhtar, following the circulation of inflammatory and provocative content.

Afridi, who retired from international cricket in 2017, remains one of Pakistan’s most iconic cricketers. With over 11,000 international runs and 541 wickets, he is particularly celebrated for his explosive batting style. He still holds the record for the most sixes in ODI history (351), though India’s Rohit Sharma is rapidly closing in on that milestone.

This fake death news serves as a stark reminder of the growing threat of AI-generated misinformation and the urgent need for social media users to verify content before sharing.
