Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur Triumph to Secure the Coveted Gold Medal

India made a mark in archery at the Asian Games as the women's compound team, comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur, clinched the gold medal in the final event. Their victory in the compound archery team final was a testament to their skill and dedication.

In the semi-finals, the top-seeded Indian team showcased exceptional prowess, overpowering the fourth-seeded Indonesian team with a score of 233-219, paving their way to the final clash.

The gold medal triumph brought India's overall gold medal count at the Games to an impressive 19. However, earlier in the competition, Indian badminton star PV Sindhu was eliminated after facing defeat in the quarterfinals. Despite this setback, India displayed remarkable performance on the 11th day of the event, further boosting the country's medal tally. At the close of the day, India stood strong with a total of 81 medals, comprising 18 gold, 31 silver, and 32 bronze medals.
