NEW-DELHI: India's prodigious 17-year-old Women's Grandmaster, Divya Deshmukh, has etched her name in the annals of chess history by claiming victory at the prestigious Tata Steel Chess India Rapid (Women) tournament, held in Kolkata. Divya's remarkable performance saw her secure the title with a total of 7 points after competing in nine grueling rounds.

In an impressive display of her chess prowess, Divya Deshmukh edged out the world champion, Ju Wenjun of China, by a narrow half-point margin. This stunning victory positions her as one of the brightest stars in the global chess arena.
