Ahead of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 final between India and South Africa, cricketer Shafali Verma's mother, Parveen Bala, said that she called her daughter to boost her morale before the big match.
Speaking to ANI from Rohtak, Haryana, Parveen Bala said, "... We all are excited and full of hope for Shafali. She is determined to perform well from start to finish to help the team win.”
“We called and encouraged Shafali not to worry about past performances and to do her best in the next match. We are sure that the team will win the World Cup, and we will celebrate a second Diwali," she added.

The toss between the two teams took place a while ago, and South Africa won the toss. The match will now commence at 5 PM at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
It was initially scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM, with the toss set for 2:30 PM; however, due to light rainfall, the start was delayed. According to sources, no overs will be reduced.
