Four Punjabis Among 12 Deported from Panama Return to India

The deported individuals had initially landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, on Sunday

Amritsar: Four Punjabis were among 12 Indian nationals deported from Panama who arrived back in the country after being expelled by the US. They landed at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar, on Monday evening.

The deported individuals had initially landed at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, on Sunday before being transferred to their respective states. Among the 12 deportees, three hailed from Haryana, three from Uttar Pradesh, and four from Punjab.

The Punjab returnees have been identified as Jatinder Singh from Nabha (Patiala), Maninder Dutt from Jalandhar, Jugraj Singh, and Harpreet Singh from Batala.

A senior police official confirmed that the group was flown to New Delhi via Istanbul on a Turkish Airlines flight. Upon arrival in the capital, the four Punjab residents were escorted to Amritsar, where police personnel from their home districts received them before they were sent back home.
