
A six year old boy in Dubai has stunned the world when he hit
the headlines in the media for becoming the world’s youngest trainee pilot for
a day.
The news gave goose bumps to the readers when they came to know that Adam Mohammad Amer flied an aircraft at Etihad Airways training academy.
Adam wore a pilot uniform and got a chance to operate an airbus A380 which is the world’s largest passenger plane. The little boy impressed his co-pilot with his ideas and his aviation knowledge.
The Etihad Airways had invited Adams when they astonished to hear the kid is very much aware about the aviation and can be given a chance to fly the world’s largest passenger plane.
Earlier this month, the boy took a trip with Etihad and during the flight, he talked with the cabin crew about his passion for planes. The boy clearly wanted to fly the plane and was passionate about aircraft.
The crew decided to create the opportunity of a lifetime for Adam by allowing him into the cockpit when the plane landed. Adams demonstrated how much he knew about planes by giving detailed procedural accounts of aicraft operating systems and expressing a deep understanding of emergency procedures.
According to the media reports, the kid perfectly described about the hydraulics and told the crew that if they have no hydraulics and the plane is taking right, you reduce engine one and increase engine two then the plane will go level again.
Adam’s experience in the cockpit caught on a video by the crew members. The video has gone viral on social media and fetched more than six million views.
Adam became an Etihad pilot for a day, and actually had the opportunity to fly his favourite aircraft in our Training Academy. The child went through several Airbus A380 simulator sessions.
A national daily of Dubai quoted Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Etihad vice president for flight operations who said, “The boy's enthusiasm reminded him of his own as a child, with dreams of becoming a pilot.”
Marzouqi further mentioned, "It really is a wonderful opportunity for us to engage with the children of our community. Adam shows incredible intellect and knowledge, having learned complex operational procedures from YouTube videos. I hope he has enjoyed his day in the life of a pilot and that it encourages him to pursue his passion when he is older."
