Indian woman dies of ant bite in Riyadh

Dubai: An Indian woman has died after being bitten by a poisonous ant in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, according to a media report.  

Soosy Jeffy, 36, from Adoor in Kerala, died yesterday during treatment, Khaleej Times reported quoting her relatives.

She was bitten by the ant on March 19 at her residence in the Saudi Arabian capital and was undergoing treatement, it said.  

There are a few species of ants that can inflict poisonous bites that can prove fatal even for a full-grown adult, according to the report. PTI
