Spiritual Pilgrimage Commences:

On Friday, a dedicated 'Sikh Jatha' set forth from New Delhi on a pilgrimage to Pakistan, embarking on a sacred journey to witness the splendor of Gurdwaras in commemoration of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 554th Birth Anniversary. Approximately 3000 visas were issued by the Pakistan High Commission, extending warm invitations to Sikh pilgrims from India to partake in the celebrations scheduled from November 25 to December 04, 2023.

This year, Guru Nanak Jayanti, falling on November 27, 2023 (Monday), holds profound significance as it marks the 554th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the luminary who laid the foundation of the Sikh religion. Born in 1469 in the village of Talvandi, in present-day Pakistan, Guru Nanak Dev's birthplace is now revered as Nankana Sahib.

Guru Nanak Dev's visionary teachings and his role as the first Guru earned him endearing titles such as Nanak, Baba Nanak, Nanak Dev, and Nanak Shah within the Sikh community.
