Ceasefire Now in Effect, Declares Trump — Fresh Missile Alerts from Israel
Iran Israel Ceasefire latest news updates: Iran-Israel Ceasefire Latest News Updates: Washington/Jerusalem/Tehran – U.S. President Donald J. Trump has announced that the ceasefire between Israel and Iran is now officially in effect, urging both nations to maintain peace.
In a post made half an hour ago, Trump stated, "THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!"
His declaration comes amid Israel issuing multiple warnings to its citizens about incoming missile threats from Iran.
Trump’s first ceasefire announcement was made approximately seven hours ago at the time of filing this report at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The ceasefire, he said, would commence six hours after that announcement, beginning with Iran.
"CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in-progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered ENDED," Trump said in a detailed post earlier.
He further explained the staggered ceasefire process: Iran would begin the ceasefire first, for 12 hours. Israel would follow with its own 12-hour ceasefire.
At the 24th hour, the conflict — referred to by Trump as the “12 Day War” — would be formally declared over and “saluted by the world.”
Trump emphasized the need for mutual respect during this phased de-escalation:
"During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL."
In a separate post, a few hours after the first ceasefire announcement made by Trump on Truth Social, he claimed,
"Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, ‘PEACE!’ I knew the time was NOW. The World, and the Middle East, are the real WINNERS!"
According to a report by The Wire, Iranian state television announced the ceasefire on state-run television early today.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on X, about five hours ago at the time of filing this report:
"As Iran has repeatedly made clear: Israel launched war on Iran, not the other way around."
He further stated, "As of now, there is NO 'agreement' on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations. However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 a.m. Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards. The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later."
In a follow-up post, Araghchi stated, "The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4 a.m. Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute."
There has been no statement made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
