 Chandigarh 11 March 2026: Punjab is steadily emerging as a major healthcare destination in North India, supported by strong medical infrastructure and a growing ecosystem of tertiary hospitals. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora today announced that Livasa Hospitals' new multi-speciality hospital is going to invest Rs 360 crore in Ludhiana. This is another important milestone in strengthening Punjab's healthcare capacity.

He said Livasa Hospitals has entered into a long-term agreement with Primewalk Infra Private Limited to develop a 368-bed multi-speciality tertiary care hospital in Ludhiana.

The hospital will be located at Sherpur Chowk on the National Highway ensuring accessibility for patients from Ludhiana and nearby districts. The facility is currently under construction and will be operational in phases over the next 18 months.

Speaking on the scale of the project, he highlighted that the hospital will be developed on 9,500+ square yards of freehold land, with a built-up area of over 2.3 lakh square feet. The total project investment is estimated at 235 crore by the Livasa Group, and 360 crore including the landowner contribution.

The project is being supported by India Resurgence Fund (IndiaRF), a joint venture between Piramal Group and Bain Capital's Special Situations team.

Livasa Hospitals already operates a strong regional network in Punjab with hospitals in Mohali (flagship contre), Amritsar, SBS Nagar (Nawanshahr),

Hoshiarpur and Khanna. With this expansion, Livasa aims to increase its total capacity to nearly 2,000 beds in Punjab, significantly strengthening the state's advanced healthcare infrastructure, he added.

Anurag Yadav CEO of Livasa Hospitals said that we provides technology-driven tertiary and quaternary healthcare, including 38+ medical specialities, 800+ beds across its network, 250+ senior consultants, 280 ICU beds, 20 modular operation theatres and 6 advanced cath labs. Sanjeev Arora informed that this investment will create better healthcare access in which residents will have access to advanced tertiary care closer to home, reducing the need to travel to Delhi or other metro cities.

It will generate employment opportunities for the youth of Punjab. The hospital will create hundreds of skilled and semi-skilled jobs in the healthcare sector.
