Vehicle, which is registered to the younger male, 24, contained IEDs: Authorities
Bondi Beach Investigation: Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met the hero who risked his own life to save others during the horrific Bondi Beach mass shooting that was carried out on Sunday by a father-son duo.
The Prime Minister visited the hospital to check on Ahmed, the hero, who is admitted there, and to thank him for his brave act
“Ahmed, you are an Australian hero. You put yourself at risk to save others, running towards danger on Bondi Beach and disarming a terrorist. In the worst of times, we see the best of Australians. And that's exactly what we saw on Sunday night. On behalf of every Australian, I say thank you,” Australia’s Prime Minister wrote in a post on his X following the visit.

“We are a brave country. Ahmed represents the best of our country. We will not allow this country to be divided. That is what the terrorists seek. We will unite. We will embrace each other. And we will get through this” the prime minister told reporters.
Anthony Albanese also informed that the Federal and state governments, AFP and New South Wales Police are working together to keep Jewish Australians safe.
“There's a lot more work ahead for our police. But we'll be with them today and every day, with everything it takes,” he added.
NSW Police Force, Australia yesterday confirmed that 16 innocent people have died and 40 others have been hospitalised following the incident.
Update on Bondi Beach Investigation
Authorities earlier today, in a press conference, informed that the response to the horrifying incident will be "comprehensive, and has begun already." "Our approach to this terrible crime in New South Wales is multifaceted," an official said.
In the wake of the deadly incident, efforts are underway firstly to work with the New South Wales police on counterterrorism, secondly to fight antisemitism in the community, and thirdly, to bring gun law reform to make gun laws tougher.
Police Authorities during the press conference confirmed that the father-son duo had travelled to the Philippines last month, and that investigations are underway.
Further police confirmed that the vehicle, which is registered to the younger male, 24, contained IEDs. It also contained two homemade ISIS flags, the police officer added.
Sajid Akram, 50 years old, has held a firearms license since 2015, police added.
