LAGOS: A devastating accident occurred yesterday in Lagos state, Nigeria, when a passenger bus collided with a truck, resulting in the tragic loss of 20 lives. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed this unfortunate incident, shedding light on the details surrounding the collision.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident transpired as the bus driver attempted to overtake a sand-laden tipper truck. However, in the process, the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to a direct collision with the truck. The impact of the collision proved fatal, claiming the lives of all 20 individuals on board the bus, including the bus driver and 18 passengers.

Remarkably, the truck driver emerged from the accident unharmed. Authorities have revealed that the bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the mortuary, pending further proceedings.
