Venezuela updates: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that interim authorities in Venezuela will turn over between 30 and 50 million barrels of high-quality, sanctioned oil to the United States of America.
Trump added that the oil would be sold at market price and that the money would be controlled by him as President of the US. He said this was being done to ensure that the funds are used for the benefit of the people of Venezuela and the United States.
“I have asked Energy Secretary Chris Wright to execute this plan, immediately,” he said, adding that storage ships will bring the oil directly to unloading docks in the United States.
