He congratulated Labour Party's Prime Minister candidate Keir Starmer after the defeat in the elections.

Labour Party secured a landslide victory in the UK General Election 2024. As of 5 am (UK local time), the Labour Party led by Keir Starmer bagged 324 seats while a total of 326 seats was needed to secure a majority and form the government. 

In the meanwhile, it has been reported that the center-left Labour leader Keir Starmer would be the next PM of the UK. He will have a lot of challenges in his way, including economic struggles, increasing distrust in institutions, and a fraying social fabric.

It came as a shock to the Conservatives who witnessed a historic defeat that will leave the depleted party in disarray and likely spark a contest to replace Prime Minister Rishi Sunak as a leader.
