Tragic accident of Gujarati-origin family in Massachusett ,US, latest news: In a heartbreaking incident in the United States, a Gujarati-origin family from Franklin, Massachusetts, met with a devastating road accident that claimed the lives of a mother and her young daughter.
Atul Patel, a resident of Franklin, lost his wife, Meenaben Patel, and five-year-old daughter, Krisha Patel, in the tragic accident. The family was on their way to celebrate Krisha’s birthday on May 24 when their vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck driving the wrong way.
The violent impact of the crash reportedly threw Meenaben and Krisha out of the vehicle, resulting in severe head injuries and multiple fractures. Krisha, who was critically injured, was airlifted to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Meenaben was admitted in extremely critical condition and passed away the next day.
Their son, who also sustained injuries in the crash, remains hospitalized and under medical care. No official update has been released regarding his current condition. Atul Patel himself suffered injuries but was discharged after receiving initial treatment.
The driver of the pickup truck, who is alleged to have caused the accident by driving on the wrong side, has been arrested. He is currently being held on a 250,000-dollar bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 24. During police interrogation, the accused reportedly denied responsibility and claimed to have no recollection of the incident.
