Donald Trump Signs Entry Ban on Nationals from 12 Countries into the US

Former U.S. President Donald Trump signed a proclamation on Wednesday banning travel from 12 countries and placing restrictions on seven others, reviving and expanding the controversial travel bans from his first term, The Guardian reported.

Trump stated that the move was necessary to protect the United States against “foreign terrorists” and other security threats, adding that he “considered foreign policy, national security, and counterterrorism goals” in determining the new travel restrictions.

According to the proclamation, nationals from the following 12 countries will be fully restricted from entering the U.S. are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen.

Meanwhile, partial restrictions will apply to nationals from the following seven countries are Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela
