A mass shooting shocked Toronto’s Lawrence Heights neighbourhood on Tuesday evening, according to police reports cited by the National Times.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 PM near the intersection of Flemington and Zachary Road, close to Ranee Avenue and Allen Road. The incident left one person dead and five others injured, police said. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Emergency services responded promptly following multiple reports of gunfire in the area.

As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities have restricted access to the area.

Forensic teams and homicide detectives are on-site, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning.

Lawrence Heights, located in the northwest part of Toronto, has experienced incidents of violence in the past. However, Tuesday’s mass shooting is among the most serious in recent memory, the report added.
