U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday stated that the US has successfully carried out a large-scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country.

Nicolás Maduro, 63 years old, has been the president of Venezuela since 2013, following the death of his predecessor and mentor, Hugo Chávez.
Venezuela is located on the northern coast of South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean to the north.
Experts are calling the development unprecedented if Trump’s claim that the president and his wife were captured and flown out of the country is true.
The US had invaded Panama in 1989 to depose the then-military leader Manuel Noriega, according to BBC analysis.
A republican senator has told BCC that United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio anticipates no further action against Venezuela and has confirmed the capture of Maduro.
Meanwhile, Venezuela’s Defence Minister, Vladimir Padrino López, has announced the immediate deployment of military forces across the country, calling the US’s attack “the worst aggression” ever against Venezuela.
"They've attacked us, but they will not subdue us," said the defence minister in a video address in Spanish.
Venezuela’s Defence Minister alleged that the US's attack hit civilian areas also and said that the government is compiling information.

Additionally, the Venezuelan government has demanded “immediate proof of life” for the president and the first lady, Cilia Flores.
As per the BBC, the Venezuelan president and his wife were captured by the US's Delta Force, which it said is the US's top counter terrorism unit.
