“A major landslide occurred near Barkot. Of the 29 people working at the site, 20 have been safely evacuated. The bodies of two individuals have been recovered,” said CM Dhami.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the situation from the State Disaster Control Room and directed all district officials to stay on high alert.

“We have reviewed the situation. For the next two months, district officials have been instructed to remain in alert mode. Due to adverse weather conditions, the Char Dham Yatra has been suspended for 24 hours. Once the weather improves, stranded pilgrims and travellers will be evacuated. We have directed district officials to ensure adequate arrangements for food, rest, and shelter for those affected,” Dhami added.
