Canada: A 20-year-old Indian origin man identified as Shivank Awasthi was shot dead in Toronto, Canada. The incident reportedly occurred near the University of Toronto's Scarborough campus on Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m., according to reports.
According to police, Shivank was shot at point-blank range, and later, doctors declared Shivank dead at a hospital.
The attacker or attackers had fled the scene before the police arrived.
In a news release on Wednesday, the Toronto Police Service said 20-year-old Shivank Avasthi is the city's 41st homicide victim of the year, CBC news reported.
Investigation is underway.
