The remarks come in response to a proposal announced by Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Chairman Hemant Dwivedi, who stated that Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham are not tourist destinations but supreme spiritual centres of Sanatan traditions.

He said a proposal would be brought in the upcoming board meeting to ban the entry of individuals who do not have faith in Sanatan Dharma across all 48 temples under the BKTC, including the Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines.
