Uttar Pradesh News: Devotees in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor have started worshipping a dog, in a surprising turn of events, after it kept circling a Hanumanji idol at a temple for days, according to posts on X.
In the latest video from the temple, devotees who came to visit can be seen taking blessings from the dog, while it sat comfortably on what appeared to be a blanket.
Devotees, including children, were seen taking blessings from the dog by touching it with both hands and bowing before it, with knees touching the floor.
The dog in question went viral over the past approximately seven days, with posts claiming that it kept circling the idol continuously for over 36 hours, with some rests in between. In the video, the dog, appearing weak and thin, can be seen going round and round in an anti-clockwise direction with its head down.
While locals and some on social media called it a miracle, others expressed serious concerns about the dog’s health, including the possibility of the dog suffering from “rabies”.
“A dog repeatedly walking in circles, often in one direction, usually signals a neurological problem affecting balance, commonly Vestibular Disease. He needs help ASAP. Stop making everything into some fictional tale,” an X user wrote.

The person asked Grok AI to explain, and in response, Grok wrote, “Canine Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome (CDS), often called "dog dementia," affects older dogs (usually 8+ years) due to brain changes like amyloid plaques and oxidative damage, similar to human Alzheimer's.”

“Symptoms include disorientation, sleep disturbances, house soiling, altered social behavior, and repetitive actions like pacing or circling. No cure, but management options: medications (e.g., selegiline), antioxidant-rich diets, supplements (omega-3s), and environmental enrichment to slow progression. Consult a vet for diagnosis,” it added.
As of now, it is unclear whether the dog has received any treatment.
