A case of alleged mass suicide has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district, where a family of five was found dead, sending shockwaves through the area.
The deceased have been identified as Manish (35), his 30-year-old wife, and their three children, residents of Khapparpur village.
Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Anupam Kulshreshtha described the incident as a prima facie case of mass suicide. According to the ADG, Manish had written a message on a wall stating that the family was committing suicide.
Police have also recovered a diary belonging to Manish, in which he stated that no one should be held responsible for the deaths, mentioning that he was taking the extreme step due to personal problems, the ADG said.

Kulshreshtha added that the police are examining all available evidence and investigating the matter from all possible angles. She noted that the postmortem examination will ascertain the exact cause of death.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar said that a self-recorded video was found on Manish’s mobile phone, in which he spoke about suicide.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination.
