Apart from policy, improved infrastructure and connectivity via air, water, road and rail have also played a crucial role.
Uttar Pradesh Emerges as India’s Fastest-Growing Startup Hub With 18,568 Ventures
Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is transitioning into a major startup hub in India. Currently, there are 18,568 active startups across the state, out of which 8,000 are led by women entrepreneurs.
This rapid increase is not confined to a few regions; instead, the startups are spread across all 75 districts. These ventures are growing in domains such as agritech, artificial intelligence, drones, and fintech.
Much of this growth is in major urban regions. A government official highlighted Noida, Greater Noida, Lucknow, Kanpur and Gorakhpur as the cities where entrepreneurship is fostering in a prominent way.
According to experts, for instance, Rajat Srivastava attributes this growth to a pro-business policy framework implemented by the state government. He said that the state is poised to become one of the leading startup hubs in the future.
Apart from policy, improved infrastructure and connectivity via air, water, road and rail have also played a crucial role. This increased connectivity helps entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh to reach both domestic and international markets more efficiently.
According to government officials, with continued support and innovation, Uttar Pradesh could soon emerge as a national powerhouse in startups and also as an internationally recognised startup hub.
The convergence of a large and diverse pool of startups, strong participation by women entrepreneurs, supportive policy measures, widespread geographic spread across districts, robust infrastructure and rising participation by top-tier cities collectively underscore Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a leading, perhaps soon globally competitive, startup ecosystem.
