Zambian national among three drug peddlers arrested

Three suspected drug peddlers, including a Zambian national, have been arrested and 30 gram heroin allegedly recovered from them, police said today. Phagwara SP Harwinder Singh Sandhu identified the peddlers as Manvir Singh alias Manu, Paul Lubinga and Ishwar Naidu. "Paul Lubinga belongs to Zambia, but is presently living in a rented accommodation at Lawgate colony in Maheru village," the SP told reporters here today

Phagwara: Three suspected drug peddlers, including a Zambian national, have been arrested and 30 gram heroin allegedly recovered from them, police said today. Phagwara SP Harwinder Singh Sandhu identified the peddlers as Manvir Singh alias Manu, Paul Lubinga and Ishwar Naidu. "Paul Lubinga belongs to Zambia, but is presently living in a rented accommodation at Lawgate colony in Maheru village," the SP told reporters here today. Manu belonged to Bazar Sheikhan in Jalandhar while Naidu hailed from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh and was presently living here in a rented accommodation. He said the trio were on a motorcycle when a patrol party stopped and searched them and allegedly recovered 30 gram heroin from them. A case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act was registered against the peddlers, he said. Their bike was also impounded, he added. PTI
