The Leader of Opposition and AAP MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira has slammed the Congress MLA Ramajit Singh Sikki for illegal encroachment upon give acres of Panchayat Land. Khaira also demanded that Capt Amarinder Singh must take action against the MLA.

Khaira told that he received by the residents of V. Ghug Shor, block Jalandhar West, in which they stated that the Congress MLA from Khadur Sahib Ramanjit Singh Sikki has illegally encroached upon five acres of panchayat land adjoining his milk plant.

He said,

“During my visit to the village I found that the family of MLA is not only in the gross illegal possession of the said plot belonging to the gram panchayat but his KF Foods Milk Plant is releasing huge amount of untreated liquid waste into this land.”

He further said that the company of MLA is violating the norms of Punjab Pollution Control Board and severely damaging environment around the area. The untreated water has also destroyed hundreds of Eucalyptus trees besides generating foul smell leading to spread of diseases amongst the residents.

As per revenue record, the late Kapoor Singh father of MLA Sikki is in illegal possession of Khatauni No. 187 of Hadbast No. 385 of V. Ghug gram panchayat land.

As per the amendment in the East Punjab Holdings (consolidation and prevention of fragmentation) Act 1948 passed by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, no land can be fragmented neither any sale deed can be executed upon the land of such nature. This notification has also been entered in the Remarks column no. 8 of the gram panchayat land record.

Khaira said,

“I have decided to take up the issue with the concerned authorities to tackle multiple violations being committed by the MLA, which include the National Green Tribunal (NGT), Punjab Pollution Control Board, Secretary Rural Development and the Director Industries (Mining).”

He said that the Punjab CM should take action against Sikki.

“I urge Capt. Amarinder Singh CM to take strict legal action against his errant MLA for violating the rule of law. In case CM fails to take appropriate action, I would be left with no option but to stage a ‘Dharna’ against the milk plant company of the arrogant MLA.”
