Vigilance nabs ASI in bribery case

State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 8,000.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Jagdev Singh posted at Police Station Sadar Rampura in Bathinda district was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Baljinder Kaur. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI was demanding Rs. 20,000 for compromise between both the parties in a case and he has agreed to get Rs. 10,000.


The accused ASI was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.8,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.

He informed that a case has been registered against the accused at VB police station Bathinda and further investigations is under progress.
