Vigilance caught Patwari red handed accepting bribe of 5000

Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed a revenue Patwari Kirpal Singh posted at revenue halqa Bhamnada, Tehsil Morinda District Rupnagar red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000.

Chandigarh: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed a revenue Patwari Kirpal Singh posted at revenue halqa Bhamnada, Tehsil Morinda District Rupnagar red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000.

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Kirpal Singh Patwari, posted at Chamkour Sahib district Rupnagar was nabbed by a vigilance team led by Pal Singh Inspector Vigilance Bureau Unit Rupnagar, while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000 from Smt. Kuldeep Kaur, a complainant of village Bhamnada, Tehsil Morinda District Rupnagar for mutation of her land.

Giving details he said the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused were demanding bribe of Rs. 5,000 from her. After verifying her complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused was arrested and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
