A two-day ban on August 24- 25  has been imposed on vehicular movement on roads near Haryana's Panchkula district court complex in view of a verdict in a rape case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. 

As per the orders of UT Administrator, Chandigarh all the educational institutions- schools and colleges of Chandigarh (Government, private, aided, unaided, technical) will remain closed on  August 24, 2017 and August 25, 2017. Panjab University teaching , non teaching and local affiliated colleges will be closed on August 24-25 2017 as per orders of Home Secretary orders.
