Phagwara: Two men were killed after they were run over by trains in two separate incidents in Phagwara district, the Government Railway Police said today. The deceased were identified as Amritpal Singh (25) and Sanjay Kumar (28), it said.

Singh, a resident of Green Park colony, was mowed down by a train near the sugar mill level crossing here, while Kumar was killed after he came down under the Durg-Jammu express near the Santokhpura mohalla, a GRP official said.

Both incidents took place yesterday when the victims were crossing the tracks unaware of the approaching trains. The bodies were handed over to the family after postmortem and cases have been lodged in connection with the two incidents, the official said. PTI
