Two motorcyclists die in accident

Phagwara (Pb): Two persons were killed and another injured after their motorcycles collided near Chak Hakeen village here, police said today.

The accident took place on the National Highway-1. The deceased were identified as Mukesh Kumar (27), a resident of Khothran village, and Raj Kumar (30) of Chak Hakeem village, SHO, Sadar, Lakhvir Singh said.

Mukesh died on the spot while Raj succumbed to injuries at a hospital, he said. The officer said that Ajay and Pawan were riding pillion on Mukesh's motorcycle. The former was seriously injured while the latter escaped with bruises, the SHO said. PTI
