Three-day Rose festival concludes with Punjabi folk evening

Cultural function, performances and competitions marked the conclusion of the three-day Chandigarh Rose Festival at Rose Garden, Sector 16, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh Mayor Davesh Moudgil was the chief guest while Barkhu Ram, a gardener, was the guest of honour on the occasion.

MC Commissioner Jitender Yadav, the Chandigarh Mayor and the gardener distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions, participants of cultural events, band parties as well as gardeners.

Senior Deputy Mayor Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, area councillor Ravi Kant Sharma, Chief Engineer of MC Manoj Bansal, Superintending Engineer (B&R) NP Sharma, Superintending Engineer (PH) Sanjay Arora, other councillors and all senior officers were present during the prize-distribution function.

On the third day, a musical evening “Punjabi Folk” was organised by the Municipal Corporation at Rose Garden. During the musical evening, famous Punjabi folk singer Sukhi Brar enthralled the audience with his traditional numbers. The singer sang Punjabi songs of Shiv Kumar Batalvi. Kalka MLA Latika Sharma was the chief guest of the Punjabi Folk musical evening.
