Three bootleggers arrested in Punjab

Phagwara (Pb): Three alleged bootleggers were arrested and 10 cartons of whiskey seized from different areas of Punjab's Kapurthala district, the police said today.

The trio have been identified as Balbir Singh, Jaspal and Avdesh. Nine cartons of whiskey were recovered from the car driven by Balbir, while another was seized from Jaspal and Avdesh, an officer said.

The three, arrested from separate checkpoints, were booked under relevant sections of the excise act and the car had been impounded, the officer added. PTI
