State Info Commission disposes off 526 cases in June 2017

Chandigarh: The Punjab State Information Commission has disposed off 526 cases during June, 2017. Disclosing this here today, the Chief Information Commissioner, Punjab, S.S. Channy said that in June, 2017 a total of 2132 cases were under consideration before the various benches of the commission whereas in May, 2017 the total number of cases amounted to 2224.

Chandigarh: The Punjab State Information Commission has disposed off 526 cases during June, 2017. Disclosing this here today, the Chief Information Commissioner, Punjab, S.S. Channy  said that in June, 2017 a total of 2132 cases were under consideration before the various benches of the commission whereas in May, 2017 the total number of cases amounted to 2224.

He further said that in order to effectively implement the Right To Information Act-2005, a total of Rs. 41000 have been given to the petitioners as compensation in 16 different cases during June, 2017. The amount awarded as compensation varied from Rs. 500 to Rs. 10000.
