Chandigarh: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia today asked the party's Punjab unit to start planning for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

His meeting with AAP's Punjab leaders and members in the national capital comes amid the party's "poor" performance in the recently held municipal corporation elections.

Sisodia, who is AAP's in-charge for Punjab, also asked leaders to strengthen the party in the state. The deputy chief minister met Sangrur MP and state AAP chief Bhagwant Mann, MLA Sukhpal Khaira and co-president Aman Arora among others in Delhi.

In the meeting which lasted for about two hours, AAP leaders also expressed concern over the party's "weaknesses" and held discussion on how to boost the morale of "demoralised" volunteers, a source said.

"We were asked to come out with a blueprint on party's strategy and preparations for 2019 Lok Sabha polls and Shahkot by-election," Arora said.

He said that the discussions also centered around strengthening the party at the grass root, its expansion, setting up a core committee and the issues to be taken up during Punjab Assembly's Budget Session.
