
S.A.S. Nagar: The Secretary, School Education Department, Punjab, Krishan Kumar today presided over a meeting of all District Education Officers (D.E.O.s) as part of the novel initiative of School Reform campaign undertaken by the Education Minister Aruna Chaudhary.
The main motive of the meeting was to ensure quality of education in the schools besides making the school management mechanism easily approachable for the people.
During the meeting, the Secretary Krishan Kumar instructed all the D.E.O.s not to ask for unnecessary mail (Dak) from the schools. If need be, the mail can be asked for through e-mail mode.
The Secretary while issuing important instructions also said that all the D.E.O.s must convene a meeting of all the school heads of their respective districts on the first Friday of every month (in case of holiday on next working day) and thoroughly deliberate on reforming the standard of education in the schools.
In another significant step towards revamping of the school education system, the Secretary underlined the need for all D.E.O.s to remain in touch with the school heads through whatsapp and redress the issues concerning school education speedily through modern tools.
He also made it clear that no teacher or an employee should have to make rounds after rounds in the offices regarding any work.
Among others present in the meeting included Director General School Education, Punjab, Prashant Kumar Goyal, DPI (Secondary Education) Paramjit Singh, various officers from the headquarters and all the District Education Officers (D.E.O.s) (Secondary Education).
