Malerkotla: Punjab ministers Manpreet Badal and Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday announced Rs 1. 5 crore for Eidgah here as a token of goodwill towards the Muslim community on the joyous occasion of Eid.
Extending greetings on the occasion, both reiterated their government’s commitment to safeguard the community’s interests and upholding the communal harmony in the state.
They assured the gathering to convey the demand of granting the district status to Malerkotla to the Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and lend their support to this demand.
The cabinet minister and local MLA Razia Sultana had raised this demand on the behalf of the community and the people of the constituency.
Manpreet Badal told the huge gathering about budgetary allocations made by Amarinder government for the community this fiscal.
