CM OKAYS RS. 40 CR FOR FLOOD PROTECTION, ORDERS SPECIAL GIRDAWARI TO ASSESS CROP DAMAGE
Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has approved the release of Rs. 40 crores to the Drainage Department for preventive flood control measures, while ordering Special Girdawari to assess crop damage resulting from natural calamities.
Disclosing this here, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in the state had been asked to immediately get the Special Girdawari conducted to assess the damage to crops on account of natural calamities, such as unseasonal rains, hailstorms, canal breaches and gale-force winds etc.
PUNJAB SC COMMISSION BATS FOR STRICT IMPLEMENTATION OF SC/BC SERVICES ACT
The Punjab State SC Commission reviewed the various welfare schemes being implemented by the Government for the welfare of schedule caste in its 22nd meeting. Disclosing this official spokesperson of the commission said that Director General of Police informed the commission that out of total 26 complaints of atrocities inflicted upon scheduled caste during the Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections 18 complaints have been redressed.
SPEAKER PUNJAB VIDHAN SABHA CONSTITUTES COMMITTEE TO PREPARE REPORT ON FARMERS SUICIDE
Speakar Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana KP Singh today constituted a committee to review and prepare report on Farmers’ Suicide in Punjab. This committee has been constituted in compliance of the resolution put forward by Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh in the sitting of Vidhan Sabha held on June 19,2017 during its second session.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Punjab Vidhan sabha said that Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria will be Chariman of this committee. While Nathu Ram MLA, Kuljit Singh Nagra MLA, Najar Singh Manshahaia MLA and Harinderpal Singh Chandumajra are members of this committee.
ROTATIONAL IRRIGATION PROGRAMME FOR KHARIF SEASON FROM July 09 TO 16
The Irrigation Department, Punjab has announced the Rotational Programme for irrigation for the Kharif Season through Canal water from July 09 to July 16. The channels of Sirhind Canal System would run on the priority basis from Abohar Branch, Patiala Feeder, Sidhwan Branch, Bathinda Branch and Bist Doab Canal respectively.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the irrigation department said that Ghaggar Branch and Patiala Minor in Group 'B' being in the channels of first preference will run to their indent. Balance water supplies available will be utilized in direct distributaries of Bhakra Main Line (BML) in group 'A'.
