25 LAKH FREE SAPLINGS TO BE DISTRIBUTED IN VARIOUS INSTITUTIONS DURING CURRENT YEAR: SADHU SINGH DHARAMSOT
The Forest Department, Punjab, would distribute 25 lakh free saplings during 2017-18 to the various institutions so as to maintain ecological balance and bring Government as well as other institutions under green cover.
Disclosing this, the Forest and Wildlife Preservation Minister, Punjab, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that the department would distribute the saplings under 'Punjab Mission Scheme' to the educational, social, religious institutions apart from military and para military forces.

In a bid to protect children from the use of tobacco/Nicotine addiction, alcohol and psychotropic substance, Punjab Government is all set to initiate massive campaign in strict compliance of the “Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act 2015” (J.J. Act) and “Cigarette and other Tobacco Product Act 2003” (COTPA) across the state.
Giving details today, Minister for Health & family Welfare Mr. Brahm Mohindra said that venders selling tobacco, alcohol and psychotropic substance (addicting products) to a minor must be booked under Juvenile Justice Act 2015.

Disclosing this official spokesperson of the department said that among the Superintending Engineers who were transferred included Mr. Parminder Singh Tiwana as SE (IP), Chandigarh while Mr. Kulwant Singh has been transferred to Construction Circle, Ludhiana, Mr. Varinderjit Singh Dhindsa to Construction Circle, Amritsar, Mr. M. S. Kajal to Construction Circle No. 2, Ptoiala, Mr. Vikas Gupta to Electricity Circle South, Patiala and Mr. Narinderpal Singh has been transferred to Central Works Circle, Amritsar.
