Punjab cabinet observes minute's silence as mark of respect for Arjan singh

Chandigarh: The Punjab Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, on Wednesday paid their tributes to Marshal of Indian Air Force, Late Arjan Singh, recalling his immense contribution to the nation’s peace and security.

The entire cabinet stood in silence for a minute as a mark of respect to the great soldier of World War II and 1965 Indo-Pak war.

The Chief Minister, while lauding the courage, grit and determination of the war hero, said he would always cherish the memory of the moment when the former Chief of Air Staff released one of his books on military history.

The recipient of several national and international awards, Arjan Singh excelled himself not just as an IAF soldier but also as a diplomat, politician and advisor to the Indian government during his long and illustrious career, Captain Amarinder added.
