Police registers case against fake recruitment advt. on social media

Chandigarh: Taking a strict action against the fraudulent persons aiming to dupe the public through a false advertisement for recruitments, the Punjab Police has registered a criminal case against the unknown persons for further investigations. 

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of Punjab Police said a fake post regarding advertisement of Punjab Police vacancies have been circulating on social media only to lure the youth for usurping money from them and cheat the Government.

He clarified that State police always issues public advertisements for a recruitment drive and uploads such information on its web portal also. "No such advertisement or announcement have been made or advertised by the Punjab Police for recruitment or employment of any cadre in the force for the current year," he affirmed. 

The spokesperson has advised the general public to disregard such fraudulent messages or posts on social media and should inform the nearest police station or police officer if any person claims or assures for any such employment in the police.

He informed that State Cyber Crime wing of Punjab Police has registered a case in this regard u/s 420, 419, 465, 468, 471 of IPC and 66, 66D of IT Act at its Cyber Crime police station SAS Nagar for thorough probe into the matter and the culprits would be put behind the bars.
