SAS Nagar: Within a month, the Kharar police have registered another case against real estate developer Jarnail Singh Bajwa. He is accused of duping investors by selling them agricultural land through misrepresentation.
It was on the directions of Mohali court that a case was registered against Bajwa, who is the promoter and managing director of Sunny Enclave. Last month he was booked for allegedly trying to grab 4-kanal land in Kharar.
Complainants Amarjit Singh, 59, of Sector 49, Chandigarh, and Jagroop Singh, 63, of Sector 91, Mohali, had entered into a sale deed with Bajwa for plot number 1002 at Sunny Enclave in Jandpur village on March 4, 2011.
The FIR mentions the two complainants wanted to buy a plot to construct a house and paid Rs19.16 lakh of the total amount of Rs 19.16 lakh.
However, at the time of execution of agreement, Bajwa changed the plot to plot number 2772.
It was also mentioned in the agreement that the registry of the plot will be executed in the buyers’ name once the entire development process and necessary approvals are complete.
However, the complainants got apprehensive about the deal and filed a Right to Information (RTI) application in 2016.
The department concerned informed them that on the day when the accused entered into the agreement to sell with them, he was not allowed to do so.
While plot number 2772 (initially 1002) was shown to be falling under Sector 123 by the accused and the first layout plan was approved by the chief town planner, Punjab, the plot had not been approved in the site plan..
The police have registered a case under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 465, 467 and 468 (forgery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
