Nambardar nabbed red handed by vigilance

Chandigarh, September 5: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against rampant corruption today nabbed a Nambardar at Sub-Registrar office, district Ludhiana red handed for accepting bribe of Rs.4500.             

Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Pritpal Singh, Nambardar at Sub-Registrar office Ludhiana was caught red handed. He said the accused was accepting bribe of Rs. 4500 from Mr. Inderpal Singh, a complainant of wishvakarma colony, district Ludhiana.

Giving details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that the above named accused was demanding bribe of Rs. 5500 to help in transfer of ownership in the name of his wife. 

After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and both the accused were caught red handed and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. 

He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
