Chandigarh: JM Balamurugan, 1994 batch IAS today assumed charge as Secretary to Governor Punjab in place of MP Singh, who has been transferred. He also holds additional charge as Secretary Sports & Youth Affairs in Punjab Government.
A senior officer, JM Balamurugan has worked in different capacities in the Government of Punjab including Secretary, Local Government & CEO of Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company, Secretary Finance. Early, he has served as Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala and as CEO of Isha Foundation on deputation.
